Corporate Identity
The National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) plays an important role in supporting and advancing sports development in Thailand, from youth programs to elite athletes competing on the international stage.
After many years of using its existing identity, the organization sought to modernize its visual presence and launched a nationwide logo design competition to discover a new symbol that could better represent its mission, vision, and future direction.
The Challenge
As a national design competition with a significant prize, the project attracted a large number of submissions from designers across the country, creating a highly competitive environment.
Beyond designing a distinctive and memorable logo, the challenge was to communicate the concept effectively within a strict five-minute presentation. The identity also needed to balance a contemporary visual language with elements that reflected the organization's Thai cultural roots.
Design Process
The project began with research into NSDF’s role, objectives, and existing visual identity to establish a direction that could represent growth, opportunity, and the future of Thai sports. Multiple design concepts were explored and evaluated to ensure the identity would be distinctive, flexible, and effective across a wide range of applications.
Given the limited presentation time, a presentation video was developed to communicate the concept, design rationale, and potential applications of the identity in a clear and engaging way.
The Solution
Following the selection process, the identity continued to evolve through collaboration with experts and stakeholders. Several elements were refined to strengthen the connection between the visual system and Thailand’s cultural context, including typography, color, and supporting graphic elements.
The project was ultimately selected as the winning entry of the nationwide competition and further developed into a flexible identity system that balances contemporary design with Thai cultural character while supporting NSDF’s long-term vision.
